The First Year of Life

Well, this last year I had the priveledge of capturing precious moments in the life of little Landyn.  He is as cute and as busy as they come.  He proved his little “busy-ness” at the first session just 2 weeks after he was born.  The little guy refused to sleep hardly at all.  Some of you may wonder what is the big deal?…so what if he didn’t sleep?  Well sure, we still got some cute shots of him while he was awake, but many of those “miracle shots” you see of little newborns are done while they are sleeping.  It is much easier to position them how you need to all curled up in a precious newborn bundle when they are sleeping.  It is difficult to do a lot of those precious poses with an awake newborn.  The following image is the “miracle shot” of his first session…after 3 hours of being there, might I add!  This shot didn’t come without a price.  In fact, I was packing up my gear almost ready to head out of the house when the little bugger decided to finally fall asleep.  When I saw he was sound asleep on dad’s shoulder I quickly pulled out my gear and took some more shots.  We then positioned him for this shot:

Now that I’ve jumped to the end of the first session, let me show you a few others from earlier on in the session.  And don’t be fooled by the closed eyes…he wasn’t really sleeping!

This is where he finally fell asleep…after 3 hours!!

Landyn’s 3 month session was probably the shortest of them all, so here are just a couple of my favorites from this session.

The 6 month session was fun.  He was just starting to sit up by himself and had more attention span than one would expect from a 6 month old.  He did great.

The 9 months session was the first outdoor session and one of the longest (not including the newborn session).  We did this session at Loose Park which is where mom and dad were engaged.  It was super hard to narrow down which pictures to show you but here is just a small handful (and they really only show a very small part of what was captured that day.)

The one year session was done at the Kauffman Gardens on a beautiful day.  This next image is one of my favorites from the session.  You can tell he’s got experience being photographed.  Look at that pose!

He couldn’t resist the fountains, of coarse.  The water was too much fun.

Towards the end we made our way into the indoor area (where he found a cat to torment.)  I love this image of him from inside.  Gotta love those big brown eyes!

Well, it was an honor to capture little Landyn from birth to one year.  I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you guys.  Your vibrant, fun, and laid back personalities made each session more than enjoyeable.  I can’t believe a year has already gone by!  I look forward to capturing your newest little one.  Yep, that’s right…they are expecting another very soon!
