Spring is here…and so am I!

I realize it has been 2 months since my last blog post!  Yikes!  Yes, I am still here & still photographing, but after a much needed break from work.  For those of you who don’t know, we just recently moved to Louisburg.  I wanted to take some time to focus on the move, which is a whole lot of work when it has been over 10 years since our last move.  Wow, were we ever tired and sore and worn out!!  And then after we moved into the new house we took on some upgrade projects right off that bat.  It’s one of those situations where it is better to just get it all done at the same time because some projects can’t be done without the other.  I’m sure many of you have been there done that, right?  In fact, here is one that my dear husband did for me….replaced all 85 white wood spindles for black iron ones.  It was a lot of work, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart sweetie!  I love the change.  We couldn’t get the new carpet in until the spindles were in, and we couldn’t get the new spindles in until the railing was darkened….oh and the railing and fire place mantle were darkened by Leslie Sobek.  She does awesome work!  Email me for her number if interested.  She is doing my kitchen cabinets in May.  I hate oak, but don’t mind it so much when it is a darker color.  Here is the before and after of our stair case.

before and after 2

I can’t even begin to tell you how happy this move has made me, aside from the tremendous amount of work it has been.  Happy to be closer to the kids’ schools. Happy to have a greener and prettier yard & a bigger and prettier house.  Happy to redecorate.  Happy to be closer to most of our friends. The list could go on and on.  I never really liked Cleveland.  I know, maybe I shouldn’t admit that so openly in public, but it’s the truth.  The only redeeming quality about that little town was our wonderful neighbors whom we love and miss dearly.  They made our stay there worthwhile.

This Spring we celebrate a new start in a new home.  new blossoms and flowers in my yard I love to see every time I pull up.  a new basket ball hoop my kids love to play with almost daily.  a new fence (which Burge Fence did a great job on).  new opportunities to be more integrated with the community we’ve known since we moved to Kansas City.  and new opportunities for my business.

Stay tuned, because tomorrow I’m going to post some pictures from a shoot I did on Monday of a gorgeous girl.
