Lauren – Senior Portraits

High school seniors are among my very favorite subjects to photograph.  It is probably one of my favorite ages ever.  It was such an exciting time in my own life so I can’t help but feel excited for them too.  I am constantly impressed with their talent and creativity and wonderful personalities.  Lauren is no exception.  Not only is she beautiful, but she is super smart and super talented.  She is captain of her dance team (and has been for 3 years). She’s been been a class officer for the last 2 years at the least, and is a member of the math honor society & national honor society.  She is probably blushing right now reading this too, so I’ll not mention any specific numbers here, but her GPA is ultra high as well as her ACT score.  She reluctantly told me her score after her parents proudly pressured her to tell me, so you can also see how genuinely humble and sweet she really is too.   (Sorry Lauren, I just couldn’t resist bragging.)  AND…she just so happens to be my neice–from my husband’s side of the family.   She lives in Virginia but asked if I’d take her senior photos when she came out this summer.  Thanks for asking me Lauren.  I am grateful for the opportunity to get to know you a little better and I had a lot of fun too.

Couldn’t resist pulling out the “lensbaby” for a few shots.  Either you love or hate the “lensbaby” look.  I LOVE IT!

And here are a few shots her dad took of us during the session.  The bottom left picture of me was taken with my lensbaby.  When I asked him what lenses he had he brought out the Canon 135mm f/2L.  Needless to say I was super thrilled because that is a lens I’ve been wanting so I asked him if we could trade for a bit….he used the lensbaby while I got to test drive the 135 f/2.  Thanks Chuck, it was fun!
